Outreach Edusys is founded in year 2000 by Dr Tay Teng Tiow. Dr Tay is joint Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Technical University of Eindhoven (TU/e) (The Netherlands). Dr Tay is both an expert in software systems and education. He has published more than 70 research papers in international journals and conference proceedings in the areas of embedded system design, distributed computer, and education. He has about 20 years of teaching experience at the National University of Singapore, and created many innovative educational programmes, among which is the highly successful Master of Technological Design (Embedded System Design) on behalf of NUS and TU/e. Dr Tay is also a director of SMB United Ltd, a mainboard listed public company on the Singapore Exchange of Singapore. He is also consultants to many companies, such as Hewlett Packard Inc, Philips Electronics and numerous Singapore based companies.
Outreach Edusys started off as a provider of professional level education for multinational companies in the areas of Computers and Embedded Electronic System Designs. Courses are mainly delivered as in-house workshops to engineers worldwide. Currently beside technical programmes, Outreach also provides programmes in business, finance, accounting, innovation and entrepreneurship. Major programmes provided by Outreach are that of ACCA professional scheme, ACCA CAT scheme, and the Bachelor of Science in Business of the University of London external programme.
Outreach Edusys also has a R&D department, which is engaged in product development in the area of wireless devices and educational technologies. Its earlier line-up of products, RF wireless keyboard, joysticks, and video devices, which were sold all over the US, Germany and UK, was acquired by SMB United Ltd. It currently has a line-up of 5 software products under the Outreach: Global Campus brand, to compliment the education programmes it is delivering. Outreach's products are all internally developed by its team of technical personnel based in Beijing and Singapore. Outreach owns all IP rights to all its line-up of products.
